A review meeting on “scoping exercise for the economic development of women-owned or women managed firms in Greater Western Peshawar area and Khyber District” was held on the 3rd of June 2022 under the chairmanship of the Project Director KPEC. The focus of the meeting was layed upon review and updation of the draft survey report along with the well-designed/establishment of the MIS database of owned and managed business by women and upcoming consultative workshop in light of exercise.

The 2nd Phase of the financial opening for hiring of the consultants for the master planning of Western Greater Peshawar has been completed on 11th of May 2022 in the presence of the representatives of the consulting firms. The 1st phase of opening of technical proposals have already been completed as per the procurement process and regulation of the World Bank.

Khyber Pass Economic Corridor (KPEC) project funded under World Bank organized a workshop on the 14 April 2022 in Peshawar through i-Consultant and Mera Maan Pvt. Ltd. The integral part of the workshop was based upon scoping exercise for economic development of women owned or women managed firms in Greater Western Peshawar. Highly diverse and relevant stakeholder both form Government and civil society give these valuable inputs to furthers enhance the survey instruments, policies etc. which can further directly contribute to this study.

A meeting with livestock & Dairy Development department was held today to gauge and assess the need for the establishment of a slaughterhouse in the outreach of the KPEC. L&DD team underscored the need and significance of the slaughterhouse and assured all possible support in this regard. They also identified other key stakeholders for engagement and deliberation to buy-in their support for the venture.

The First round of meeting with the five shortlisted consulting firms and their JVs partners was held in the conference room of the KPEC PMU on 30th of December, 2021. A meeting of World Bank Implementation Support Mission team was held with Secretary Planning & Development Department Government of KP regarding the current status of the Khyber Pass Economic Corridor (KPEC) Project. Detailed deliberation held on the project activities and future way forward.  The mission appreciated the efforts of the GoKP and KPEC team and assured all possible support from the World Bank.
