Stakeholder's Workshop-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Land-Use and Building Control Act, 2021 & District Land Use Plan Peshawar.

 

The Khyber Pass Economic Corridor Project (KPEC), in collaboration with the Provincial Land Use Plan Project (PLUP), Urban Policy & Planning Unit, and Planning & Development Department, organized a comprehensive two-day workshop held on the 14th and 15th of September, 2023, at Peshawar Serena Hotel.

 

The Provincial Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa introduces a groundbreaking Land Use Plan for Peshawar, aligning with the Land Use and Building Control Act 2021. This plan prioritizes responsible land resource utilization and sustainable growth in the face of rapid urbanization.

The plan has undergone rigorous evaluations and received approval from the Land Use and Building Control Council, emphasizing its importance and compliance with regulations.

The keynote speakers at the event included national experts from academia, as well as government officials. This event united key stakeholders, including the Provincial Land Use and Building Control Council, the Planning and Development Department, various line departments, the District Administration, and Local Government representatives.

The event provided essential training on the Land Use Plans and the complex provisions of the Provincial Land Use and Building Control Act 2021, enhancing participants' expertise for responsible land management and sustainable development.

The event concluded with inspiring words from the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) who emphasized the government's unwavering commitment to sustainable development and the responsible preservation of our invaluable land resources. This commitment underscores Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's dedication to a future marked by liable and sustainable growth.

In a momentous conclusion, the event was honored by the presence of esteemed individuals, including the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Director General of SDU, and Project Director of KPEC, who presented shields and certificates to the participants
