Access to finance for Women Owned and Managed Businesses

Khyber Pass Economic Corridor (KPEC) in collaboration with SMEDA conducted a successful event for women-owned and managed businesses in District Peshawar and Khyber on diversifying access to finance options on 8th of September 2022. More than 100 women entrepreneurs participated in the event wherein they were apprised on ease of doing business with focus on registration of businesses for incorporation and taxes etc. The entrepreneurs were briefed in detail on wider financial inclusion programs and incentives, their criteria and eligibility. The event concluded with the following outcomes.

  • 80 Women entrepreneurs registered for SMEDA grant scheme through one window facilitation
  • NTN registration of 65 entrepreneurs was processed, making them eligible to apply for any grant and loan schemes of the Government and donors.
  • SMEDA one window facilitation facility was open to all the participants and online spot registration was done which was availed by 27 participants.
  • 38 entrepreneurs were facilitated for on-spot registration for the grant having all the required documentation.
  • Listing of the entrepreneurs was done to support SMEDA in facilitating the entrepreneurs to visit the SMEDA office for further completion of the prerequisites to avail of the grant. 
  • Among others, 09 members of the minorities group were also facilitated for registration of NTN
  • One disabled entrepreneur was also supported in registering her business through SMEDA one window facilitation services.
