Two Days Awareness Session held on October 5th -6th, 2023 at Abbottabad for District Land Use Planning & Management Committees of District Swabi and Abbottabad
The Khyber Pass Economic Corridor Project (KPEC), in collaboration with the Provincial Land Use Plan Project (PLUP), Urban Policy & Planning Unit, and Planning & Development Department, has organized a two days’ workshop held on the 5th and 6th October, 2023 at Abbottabad.
This was the 3rd and last workshop to provide essential training on the Land Use Plans and the complex provisions of the Provincial Land Use and Building Control Act 2021 for enhancing participants' expertise responsible for land management and sustainable development in the province.
The Provincial Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa introduced Land Use Plan for Swabi and Abbottabad districts aligning with the Land Use and Building Control Act 2021. These plans prioritizes responsible land resource utilization and sustainable growth in the face of rapid urbanization.
The keynote speakers at the event included national experts from academia, government officials as well as representative of Sub National Governance (SNG) Programme. This event united key stakeholders, including the Provincial Land Use and Building Control Council, the Planning and Development Department, various line departments, the District Administration, and Local Government representatives.
The event concluded with inspiring words from the Deputy Executive Director Urban Policy and Planning Unit , P&DD Govt of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who emphasized the government's unwavering commitment to sustainable development and the responsible preservation of our invaluable land resources. This commitment underscores Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's dedication to a future marked by liable and sustainable growth.
