KPEC organized a workshop on KP Land-Use and Building Control Act, 2021 & District Land Use Plans at Nathia Gali

 

The Khyber Pass Economic Corridor Project (KPEC), in collaboration with the Provincial Land Use Plan Project (PLUP), Urban Policy & Planning Unit, and Planning & Development Department, has organized two days’ workshop held on the 21st and 22nd September 2023 at Hotel Elites Nathia Gali.

This was the second of three planned workshops to provide essential training on the Land Use Plans and the complex provisions of the Provincial Land Use and Building Control Act 2021 for enhancing participants' expertise responsible for land management and sustainable development in the province.

The Provincial Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa introduced Land Use Plan for Nowshera, Charsadda and Mardan districts aligning with the Land Use and Building Control Act 2021. These plans prioritizes responsible land resource utilization and sustainable growth in the face of rapid urbanization.

The keynote speakers at the event included national experts from academia, as well as government officials. This event united key stakeholders, including the Provincial Land Use and Building Control Council, the Planning and Development Department, various line departments, the District Administration, and Local Government representatives.

The event concluded with inspiring words from the Additional Secretary Local Government & Rural Development Department (ACS) who emphasized the government's unwavering commitment to sustainable development and the responsible preservation of our invaluable land resources. This commitment underscores Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's dedication to a future marked by liable and sustainable growth
